Ministry Team

Thank you so much for the privilege of representing God, while serving you. We believe that all leadership is granted from the Lord. (John 19:11) He is the One True God, and the only Perfect Leader of the church. Jesus gave instructions that those who lead must do so by being a servant. (Mark 10:42-45) He used His own life as the perfect example of servant leadership when He said, “For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.” (Mark 10:45) He willingly died in our place to make us a part of His family. Jesus even washed His disciple’s feet as a servant would do. (John 13:13-17) God calls church leadership to spiritually “feed” the church. They are to serve willingly without personal motives, and with a prepared mind. In short, they are to be servant examples of Christ in all they do. (1 Peter 5:1-3) We look forward to serving you in the name of Christ, to the best of our ability, under the direction of the Spirit of God, and for the purpose of church and community wide spiritual growth in the work and ministry of Jesus Christ our Lord.

How may we serve you and the LORD today?

The Lord has blessed me with the special calling of being the pastor and shepherd for God’s people here at Brookneal Baptist. It is by God’s guidance that my family moved to Brookneal Virginia, and “happened” to fill a great need in this church.

I believe there are two great responsibilities of the pastor. The first is to feed God’s sheep with His Word, under the direction of His Spirit, and through careful study of the entire counsel of God. The second is to be an example among the believers, living out God’s principles. I desire to live up to both of these responsibilities.

I also believe a pastor is to be among his congregation. He should rejoice when they rejoice, and mourn when they mourn. He should care for the sick, the fatherless, and the widowed. He should pray constantly for the church.

May we all grow in God’s grace and love as we help each other draw closer to God together. We pray that our ministry, as a church, will bring many from our community to accept Jesus as Savior, and to become His disciple. We also pray that we can provide healing for the hurting, and a safe place for sinners to find forgiveness and relationship with Jesus the Savior.Come and join us as we endeavor to Seek God in all we do.

AND…don’t forget to pray for your pastor and his family, the ministries of the church, and each other.
